The decline in exports to China slowed down the German export economy. "With imports from China rising sharply, competitive pressure from Chinese goods in this country continues to increase significantly." In its latest economic survey, the German Chamber of Industry and Commerce (DIHK) wrote that Chinese suppliers had become "serious competitors" in core sectors of German industry.
